Ellis Horwood’s publishing carrer points to broad international professional involvement in the book trade throughout the world with service in Macmillan (London and India), Hutchinson, Elsevier and Van Nostrand (as London founding publisher). After being made redundant he founded Ellis Horwood Limited and published some 2000 books: but regrettably the family company had to be sold after only 17 years. A working life among books and authors is not easily abandoned, and in response to requests from many authors Horwood Publishing Limited was formed and now continues the family tradition of publishing in advanced science and technology.

We have expertise which could be helpful to our authors, both in the planning and preparation of books and in the marketing and distribution. Ellis is now joined by Mark his youngest son and supported by a team of former colleagues who will continue to publish under this familiar imprint.
